Priorities

Great quote

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower – April, 1953

It was quoted in David MacKay's book, Without the Hot Air.

It is part of a speech he made, the Chance for Peace.
I wish politicians and the public thought this way.

me too! too bad everyone thinks in the short-term, for him/herself. but i'd like to see that change, and it'd be nice to be a part of that change also.
